March 29, 1999 - A link to the Australian Aviation Psychology Association has been added to the Resources section.


March 28, 1999 - We have added several new items to the Resources section of the site.  They are:


March 19, 1999 - The latest version of the FAA CRM Advisory Circular, AC 120-51C, has been added to the Resources section.


March 14, 1999 - There are several new features in this revision:


March 12, 1999 - The Industry CRM Developers Group's web site and mailing list have both moved to new servers. These changes greatly enhance our ability to carry on conversations and give us advanced technical capabilities on our web site.

  • We have a new address and new internal structure for our web site <http://www.crm-devel.org/>, which will require you to update any bookmarks or favorites lists you may have created for the old site. The site now uses Microsoft FrontPage technology, which streamlines site development and maintenance significantly. This means your contributions will get on-line faster, while taking less of the the webmaster's scarce time to maintain the site. In addition, we have a vastly improved site search capability to help you find the information you need in our ever growing collection of resources. Watch for additional changes in the near future.
  • For information on the new mailing list, check out the Mailing List page. We also have new capabilities through the new mailing list server such as daily message digests, web-only subscriptions, an on-line calendar, polling, personal profiles, and a new searchable email archive.

February 11, 1999 - The latest featured book, "Culture at Work in Aviation and Medicine" by Robert L. Helmreich and Ashleigh C. Merritt, is now available in the CRM and Human Factors Bookstore.


February 9, 1999 - Three new papers are now available in the Resources section.


December 1, 1998 - December's featured book, "Applied Cognitive Task Analysis in Aviation" by Thomas L. Seamster, Richard E. Redding and George F. Kaempf, is now available in the CRM and Human Factors Bookstore.


November 29, 1998 - Links to several UK Aeronautical Information Circulars (AIC) relative to CRM and Human Factors have been added to the Resources section. These documents require use of the free Adobe Acrobat Viewer.


November 25, 1998 - The Royal Aeronautical Society's Human Factors Group has published Guide to Performance Standards for Instructors of Crew Resource Management (CRM) Training in Commercial Aviation. Information for obtaining this publication has been added to the Resources section.


November 10, 1998 - The January, 1996 issue of the CRM Advocate has been added to the Resources section.

August 31, 1997 - To help those preparing to attend the ATA CRM Workshop in Houston, Texas later this month, we have posted the cover letter and draft agenda detailing this annual event.


August 30, 1997 - We have a new job posting in the CRM and Human Factors Career Center.

A new biography has been added to the CRM-DEVEL biography page.


August 24, 1997 - We have posted the next issue of The CRM Advocate, from January 1994, which contains several excellent articles on Joint Pilot/Flight Attendant CRM. There are also several other must-read articles.


August 23, 1997 - We have a valuable new addition to our online collection this week. Captain Lou Nemeth of U.S. Airways has donated the entire collection of back issues of The CRM Advocate, a newsletter which he and his team published for over three years. The first issue, from October 1993, is now available. The remaining issues will be added on a regular basis.


August 17, 1997 - This revision adds "Facilitating LOS Debriefings: A Training Manual", by Lori K. McDonnell, Kimberly K. Jobe, and R. Key Dismukes of NASA's Ames Research Center.This is one of the best new resources available for CRM developers and facilitators.


August 7, 1997 - The newest revision is "Guidelines for Line-Oriented Flight Training, Volume I" by John K. Lauber and H. Clayton Foushee. This NASA publication is one of the classics on the conduct of LOFT.


August 6, 1997 - This week's revision is an outstanding contribution by the CRM Developer's Dave Wilson. Dave has consolidated and added comments to the discussions the group had on CRM Metrics. An outstanding bit of work! Thanks Dave!


July 31, 1997 - There is a new CRM and Human Factors Career Center available now. Get that dream job or find the ideal person for an open position. Also, visit the CRM and Human Factors Bookstore to learn more about August's featured title, "Basic Flight Physiology" by Richard O. Reinhart, M.D. Finally, we have added a new entry to the list of member biographies.


July 14, 1997 - We have added three new entries to the list of member biographies.


July 13, 1997 - As the Internet continues to expand, more outstanding sites with material related to CRM and human factors are becoming available. In this revision, we have added 30 new links to our Resources page.


July 7, 1997 - In this revision we add "Darker Shades of Blue: A Case Study of Failed Leadership" by Major Tony Kern, United States Air Force.


June 29, 1997 - Visit the CRM and Human Factors Bookstore to learn more about July's featured title, "Cockpit Resource Management" by Wiener, Kanki, and Helmreich.


June 15, 1997 - The latest revision completes the posting of materials from the Situation Awareness Mamagement Workshop held on 27 April 1997 at the Ninth International Symposium on Aviation Psychology. It adds the reports from Group B, Group C, and Group D.


June 2, 1997 - Today's revision adds two items: The 1991 paper "The Naval Safety Center's Aircrew Coordination Training Program" by Dr. Bob Alkov, and the PowerPoint slide presentation given by Neil Krey at the Industry CRM Developers Group business meeting, held on 27 April 1997 at the Ninth International Symposium on Aviation Psychology.


June 1, 1997 - Visit the CRM and Human Factors Bookstore to learn more about June's featured title, "Redefining Airmanship" by Tony Kern.


May 30, 1997 - In the latest revision, we add two papers: "Situation Awareness and Workload: Birds of a Feather?" by Keith C. Hendy, Defence and Civil Institute of Environmental Medicine, Canada; and "Moving from Theory to Practice: Integrating Human Factors into an Organization" by Vince Mancuso, Ph.D., Delta Air Lines. Both of these papers require use of the free Adobe Acrobat Viewer.


May 27, 1997 - In this revision we have added Training for New Technology, by Captain John Bent. This paper was originally presented at the Ninth International Symposium on Aviation Psychology, April 1997.


May 26, 1997 - In this revision we have added Does Cockpit Management Training Reduce Aircrew Error? by Alan E. Diehl, Ph.D., This paper was originally presented at the 22nd International Seminar International Society of Air Safety Investigators held at Canberra, Australia in November 1991.


May 24, 1997 - The Industry CRM Developers Group conducted "Situation Awareness Management: A Workshop for CRM Developers" at last month's Ninth International Symposium on Aviation Psychology in Columbus, Ohio. We have added the workshop handout which includes links to several of the presentations which were made during the workshop. Additional material from the workshop will be added in the near future.


April 20, 1997 - The Industry CRM Developers Group in association with Amazon.com Books is proud to announce the opening of the CRM and Human Factors Bookstore.

April 6, 1997 - We have been collecting a large number of new World Wide Web links related to CRM and aviation human factors. These have been added to the Resources page. Additionally, we have added two more member biographies.


April 2, 1997 - This revision we have added the Crew Resource Management Manual. This document is an excellent collection of CRM concepts and training approaches as developed by Transport Canada, System Safety, Western Region.


March 25, 1997 - The latest revision adds a listing of Manufacturer's Philosophies on Automation.


March 23, 1997 - In this revision we add a paper by the Royal Aeronautical Society titled Quality Crew Resource Management. This is an excellent basic resource for CRM program developers.


March 20, 1997 - This revision adds two papers which were contributed by Industry CRM Developers Group member Robert Barnes. They are Multi-Cultural Training in Human Factors For Transport Aircraft Certification, and Human Factors in the International Certification of Transport Category Aircraft.


March 15, 1997 - We continue building our collection of regulations related to CRM and Human Factors with the addition of Federal Aviation Regulation Part 121, Subpart N, Training Program. This portion of the regulations requires CRM training for airlines not training under AQP.


March 8, 1997 - The newest addition to the site is SFAR 58, Advanced Qualification Program. This is one of several FAA regulations which require CRM training. Also, still more profiles have been added to the biographies section.


February 22, 1997 - Plans continue to evolve for Group activities at the Ninth International Symposium on Aviation Psychology in April. Also, the Industry CRM Developers Group has made the big time in the media! Read the first trade publication article to feature our group, a first class feature on situational awareness from the January 1997 issue of FLYING CAREERS by Constance Bouvier. Also, more profiles have been added to the biographies section.


January 25, 1997 - Information about the Industry CRM Developer's Situational Awareness Management Workshop which will be held as part of the Ninth International Symposium on Aviation Psychology has been added. Additionally, the next document in our series of FAA Advisory Circulars has been added to the Resources section. It is FAA Advisory Circular 120-35B, Line Operational Simulations: Line-Oriented Flight Training, Special Purpose Operational Training, Line Operational Evaluation.


January 19, 1997 - We have added still more profiles to the biographies section. Also, to support the discussion on the CRM-DEVEL Mailing List relative to Dispatch Resource Management, we have added FAA Advisory Circular 121-32, Dispatch Resource Management Training.


January 12, 1997 - We have continued to add to the biographies section. We have also added the first in a series of regulatory and other documents on CRM to the Resources section. The first is FAA Advisory Circular 120-51B, Crew Resource Management Training.


December 1, 1996 - By request from the members of the group, we have added a biographies section which gives each member the opportunity to share their interests and qualifications. We hope this will help promote communications.


November 14, 1996 - In our first revision, we have made a few minor corrections and fixed some links to other sites which were not working quite right. We have also added several links to other sites which we hope you will find useful.


November 4, 1996 - This is the inaugural edition of the Industry CRM Developers Web Site. Everything here is new, but keep checking back. We have lots more to come in the near future. Of particular interest is the CRM-DEVEL Internet Mailing List and its companion archive.
