The courts will decide how American Airlines passenger Marcelle Becker
ended up handcuffed by her own dog leash in first class. Becker had
purchased a ticket for her dog traveling in a carrier. However, the broken
carrier allowed the dog to escaped five times, according to American. The 98
pound woman claims to have suffered $120K in medical expenses after the
captain ãbeat her to a bloody pulp.ä American does not dispute that Becker
was restrained with her own dog leash, but says Becker threatened to open
a cabin door inflight. The captain tied her hands behind her back and
jammed his knee into her back, according to Becker. FBI agents meet the
plane, but released everyone after several hours. Becker insist the dog later
died as result of injuries it suffered when flight attendants stuffed him back
into his bag and kicked it roughly under a seat. American said the dog died
simply because it wasnât healthy. Beckerâs side calls the lawsuit a landmark
case and say their victory at trial will finally topple the malevolent pilots,
who rule the skies with ironfisted ãgestapo tactics.ä American says the suit
is about putting a lid on out-of-control passengers. ABC NEWS REPORT
