Inflight violence

Gentlemen,

Please excuse this interruption to the regular flow of information.
I have just been added to the group, and would like your assistance.
You may be aware of the growing problem of inflight disruption, or
SKYRAGE. My wife Renee was brutally assaulted and seriously injured
by an out of control passenger last December. Please turn your web
browser to http://members.aol.com/safeflt/skyrage.htm for a
complete description of Renee's ordeal.
Furthermore, Renee just returned from Baltimore yesterday after giving
her deposition. We were horrified to find that the Department of Justice
has ineptly dropped the ball entirely. The accused had previously
admitted to a Federal Magistrate that he was under the influence of LSD
when he became unruly. The Justice Department NEVER TESTED for the
presence of this substance in the man's system!! As if to add injury to
insult, the Federal guidelines for sentencing reveal that this man could
walk away with nothing more than a misdemeanor charge of simple assault.
In other words, it looks as if yet another violent criminal will be
released from his responsibility.
If this letter angers you, please appreciate my feelings on the matter.
Not only has my wife been violated, my family traumatized, our finances
depleted, and our sense of justice shattered, we must now face the fact
that the people who are supposed to protect us, have turned their backs.
Each time I read yet another account of passenger assault on a flight
crewmember, I am reminded that the penalties for this crime carry a
maximum sentence of up to twenty years, and a fine of up to two hundred
and fifty thousand dollars. The Justice Department would have us think
that they stand guard over the flying public as some sort of snarling
pit bull. The fact is...The dog has no teeth!
Please, contact Representative Bud Shuster; Chairman of the House
Aviation Subcommittee, at tim.duncan_at_mail.house.gov . Ask that a
review of the sentencing guidelines be instituted. Pass this message
along to others in the group. I hope to gain your support. You can
