I wonder if the average length of the mission or number of hours in type
per month has a bearing. When I flew in the Air Force we sometimes only
got 8 hours a month. In the airline business we do 80 or more yet, in my
case, individual sorties are about the same length. The number of training
"events" per hour was much higher in the fighter/trainer business.
