In the absence of any other reply I can tell you that I was at the EAAP
seminar and can tell you a little about the EAAP plans for accreditation of
aviation psychologists and human factors specialists. As I understand it,
these plans are primarily a result of the move towards harmonisation of the
European aviation scene under JARs. I should say that the EAAP action is
directed at those who wish to work more broadly as aviation psychologists
and human factors specialists, not specifically at those wishing to
undertake CRM facilitation. By promoting this registration procedure, EAAP
aims to provide a professional standard on which civil and military
authorities as well as aviation organisations and industry can rely.

EAAP have set down some minimum requirements, which include various
professional education and experience criteria. In cooperation with the
Joint Research Centre of the European Commission, EAAP have commenced a
training course cycle (the first of these was last September near Rome) to
provide those wishing to register with the appropriate background. They are
in fact running their next batch of courses for the next two weeks at the
JRC at Ispra in Italy.

If you are interested in further information about the way they have arrived
at this cooperative training agreement - perhaps something the forum is
interested in? - the best contact would be the EAAP secretary, Capt Werner
Naef, of Swissair: <100131.3207_at_CompuServe.COM>

EAAP also have a new website, at: www.eaap.com

Best,

Brent
