Just a short note to advise you that AAvPA are holding a two-day Industry
Human Factors Seminar next month. The seminar is titled "Opportunities in
Proficiency Based Training and Assessment", and it will take place in
Melbourne (Australia) on 17-18 November 1998.
The seminar will focus on the concept of AQP-style training and assessment.
While AQP has been a focus of attention for North American carriers for
some years now, interest in the concept has recently spread to the major
carriers in Australia and the Asia Pacific region. The program of invited
speakers includes representatives from the FAA, United Airlines, the
University of New Mexico, Airbus, Qantas Airways, Ansett Australia, other
industry representatives, and academia.
While I realise that a quick trip to Australia is out of the question for
many list members, it goes without saying that all are welcome, and my hope
is that this note will bring the seminar to the attention of a number of
Asia Pacific region colleagues who may be interested in attending.
