USE OF COMMERCIAL VIDEOS/MOVIE SEGMENTS ETC

I am presently gathering information and training aid ideas for
inclusion in a CRM course that is presently up and running. From past
CRM courses I noted several valuable lessons were very effectively
illustrated using snips from old movies, TV shows, comedy routines etc.
The issue of copyright protection for these "extracts" is what concerns
me.

Does anyone have an insight as to how best approach this issue? Has
anyone met with success in this area that could prevent me from
"reinventing the wheel"?
