Good discussion here by John, Dick, and others. Keep it up.

I came across a very interesting resource related to flight deck
automation this week. It is several draft chapters of a new book by
Donald Norman. While the book is not specifically aimed at aviation
applications, Norman makes a strong case for changes in the design of
today's computerized systems. Norman, along with his collegue Ed
Hutchins had worked with Boeing in the past on cockpit automation
issues.

If there is interest in Norman's writings, we can add his books to the
CRM and Human Factors Bookstore.
