To fellow CRMers:

I will be teaching OSU's first CRM course for new pilots this winter and
will use my own book "Pilot Judgment and Crew Resource Management". I
appreciate the discussion on this topic and would like to hear from others
who have already been through this experience.

I have taught several shorter workshops, including one in Alaska for Part
135 pilots using both judgment and CRM ideas. We are basically teaching
crews to make better decisions whether alone or in twos (or threes) and many
of the ideas apply in each case. The major difference in teams is that
communication is a bigger factor in decisions. Communication is still a
factor in single pilot operations because passengers, dispatchers, fellow
pilots, and others are potential resources.

Sorry to miss the UAA meeting -- I would love to share some of these ideas
with the group.

By the way the program for the Ninth Symposium on Aviation Psychology, April
27-May 1 is shaping up nicely with many CRM workshops, panels and sessions.
If anyone yet wants to be one the program, we must hear from you by Oct 31.
