Good Morning CRMers!

While it is true that we have many of the leading people from the CRM
and Human Factors community participating here in various ways, I
think it is important to point out that most who we put in that
category got there by communicating with others who have similar
interests. I encourage Captain Ratwatte and all others on the mailing
list to take advantage of this opportunity to share ideas, approaches,
problems, etc. with the rest of the group. My personal hope for this
mailing list is that it become a worldwide community of people who
share a common interest in improving aviation safety, training, and
operations through development of human factors and CRM training.

I agree strongly! Those of us in the U.S. DO NOT have all the
answers, and as the discussion on cross-cultural issues makes clear,
there is much work to be done worldwide. We will make progress
through open and frequent communications.

The use of the monthly topic is designed to provide a seed for
discussion of timely topics and topics of interest to a significant
cross section of the members of the mailing list. In part, I DO think
that the journey is important, but just as valuable is a place where
you can go to get answers, sources of information, or to get feedback
from others on your ideas and approaches. A complementary goal is to
facilitate the development of generic HF/CRM materials which can be
accessed and used by the world aviation community. We will be talking
more about that as we get our Web site on line.
