I certainly will, Dick. They'll go in the mail tomorrow.
Open Comment:
This might also be a good time to pick up on Captain Ratwatte's comment.
There have been a few exchanges over the past week regarding B-B
participation and participants. The Captain is right--there are some real
academic and research leaders on this B-B list as well as some very
experienced CRM operational types. This can simultaneoulsy be both
intimidating and a wonderful opportunity. It will also take a lot of
individual participation to make this process continue to be beneficial to
all concerned over the long haul.
>From my perspective, we not only need the active participation of the really
knowledgeable CRM-types but also the regular participation of line pilots,
the ATC and maintenance folks, design engineers, and probably several other
points of view as well. And, since the topic of multi-cultural programs has
already been brought up, we also need to hear the thoughts of folks outside
the U.S. because there are a lot of really good ideas out there. This is a
very lofty goal but one which has the potential of enriching us all and
leading to some dramatic improvements in our collective work.
I like having the monthly discussion topic to provide a focus but I also
enyoy the free-wheeling discussions that have spun off of this month's topic.
There have been some really good contributions in just the last few days
from Vince Mancuso, Dave Wilson, and John Wiley. Please keep it up! I know
it's helpful to me in my work and I suspect it is to others on the list (even
if they don't speak up).
I guess my basic questions at this point are "Where are we going with these
discussions? Do we have a goal in mind or is the journey the important
part?"
