On Monday, Neil wrote in response to my comments re CRM and CRM Training in
certification flight test:

"... CRM Workshop in Charlotte ... two presentations ... on the application
of CRM training in the flight test environment. I never really appreciated
how much of a team activity flight test is."

Actually, my interest goes beyond the team aspects of the flight test
personnel activities (which is important in its own right). In evaluating
"classic" cockpit modifications from three-pilot to two-pilot crews, we have
noted that there is considerable difference in the CRM used by three pilot
crews vs two pilot crews. Therefore, if the applicant doesn't take into
account these differences through effective training program design and the
preparation of appropriate checklists, the result during flight test can be a
perception of increased workload and, in some cases, an unacceptable rating
of the design by the line evaluation pilots.

That's why I've been interested in your discussions on LOFT Debriefing, CRM
Metrics, and the importance of Checklist Design.
