Behaviors (plural) is indeed what we are attempting to change and
behaviors are what we should ultimately assess in CRM, or any other kind
of avivation, training courses. But behaviors of the kind we are
attempting to change cannot be changed without changing some cognitive
or attitudinal states and conditions. It is not clear that if attitudes
are changed behaviors will automatically and quicky change. But it is
clear that long-term behavioral change without accompanying changes in
cognitive states is not going to happen. So, we try to change behaviors
directly but we also attempt to change the supporting cognitive
structure that supported the dysfunctional or inappropriate behaviors we
are trying to eliminate.
