Hello Dick,

The research team led by Dr. Bob Nullmeyer at Armstrong Labs has recently
conducted an evaluation of C-130 crews that, to my knowledge, is the first
scientifically valid, reliable, and defensible correlation between CRM
performance and mission performance. We are all aware of the difficulties
of obtaining valid, reliable and defensible CRM performance and mission
performance measurements. Their group has done it. I received the
briefing on their work yesterday at the Air Force CRM Steering Committee
meeting. Steve Tourville is a member of the Armstrong Labs research team
and a member of this online developer's group. I have asked Steve if it is
possible to obtain a copy of their work so we may post it on this archive.

Regarding your request for behavioral marker lists, there are a couple of
CRM behavior lists that the Air Force folks are currently developing. The
Armstrong folks used video tape analysis to create one specifically for the
Special Operations C-130 Crews. I recently participated in a series of
focus group sessions with the 10th Air Force Standardization and Evaluation
Pilots (all F-16 and A-10 pilots) that derived a set of fighter pilot
specific behaviors that they will be using for daily mission assessment as
well as check rides. If I can receive permission from the Air Force, I
will post these various lists to this web site.

I hope this helps,
