We have had occaision to insist that pilots teach pilots and somehow
suggest that the mental health professionals and organizational researchers
are secondary to our efforts. This is just not true. The line crew's
function is one of a bridge or cultural interpreter. It is also true that
CRM is an outgrowth of a number of management science theories. We have a
heritage in MBO, TQM, ...etc. One of the reasons that the CRM model can be
adapted to other parts of the organization is that it is based on just such
management theories.
