=====My thought on this stems back to the F-4 fighter days where I gave
Stan-eval checks to crews...usually from a chase plane. I have a feeling
that this is similar in nature since the airplane is in fact a crew
airplane. I think if I was giving a check like this I would allow for
normal crew interaction. If I was worried about the ability to fly alone, i
would fly in the co-pilot position and be a bad co-pilot which from time to
time the new Capt. might run into.
The evaluation should concentrate on his ability to run and manage the
airplane resources not how to fly alone. However, if the co-pilot was
skillful, more than normal help could have been applied to the pilot during
the testing...not fair! There has to be a definition of normal
interaction...ie procedures only...no judgement offered to the capt. during
testing.
Just two cents worth from an old evaluator.
