Subject: FW: FAA Rewrite of the AQP Chapter on CRM
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Regarding Vince Mancuso's observations on a the
development of a revised AQP Advisory Circular:
Certainly anyone who has been participating in the
ATA/AQP working group (WG) over the past year has been
well aware that the FAA is developing a draft revision
of the AQP Advisory Circular. The WG Focus Groups,
each of which is comprised of airline personnel working
in the various operational areas (LOS,
Instructor/Evaluator Training, Data Management, ISD,
and CRM), have been very active in providing input to
that endeavor. Regarding CRM, the GAO Report
(GAO/RCED-98-7) endorses the AQP methodology for
integrating CRM into curriculum development. The intent
of including a draft chapter specifically on CRM,
therefore, is to provide a hopefully clear explanation
of that methodology in AQP. Constructive input on how
to improve the chapter is welcome. The next meeting of
the ATA/AQP WG is 12/13 May 98 at the Sofitel Hotel in
Houston. The Focus Groups, including the CRM Focus
Group, will meet at that hotel on 11 May at 1300.

This appeared on the CRM mailing list this morning. Since it concerns the
AC, I thought you should be aware of it.
