TOP DOWN CRM

I just got logged in to the forum yesterday. I am just a week or two
from fielding a new seminar for the KC-10 Instructor/Evaluator CRM
Course.

The seminar is two four-hour sessions consisting of two pilots, two
flight engineers and two boom operators. (ideally) It could be a mix
of any of the above.

The second day center-piece is a publication by Dr.(Maj.) Tony Kern at
the USAF Acedemy. It is an in-depth look at the B-52 disaster at
Fairchild AFB in 1994. The title is "Darker Shades of Blue" - a
case of failed leadership.

Dr. Kern addresses CRM in the broadest sense - from the top down..He
also introduces us to a new term. The "Rogue Avaiator". I always
knew they existed, but until now I didn't have a discriptive term.

He also describes the "Rogue Aviator". See if you ever met Him/Her.

"Best stick and rudder pilot in the........"!

"Considerable social skills....(talks a good game...)

"Better reputation with his superiors than his peers and
subordinates."

"Plays by own rules - little regard for "authority"

"Consistantly violates tech data and regulations"

Just wondered if anyone else was using this.
