In preparation for AQP, the MD11 training program at FedEx is being revised.
As a part of rewriting the syllabus, we're thinking of producing a
videotape that would be sent to pilots about a month prior to entering the
upgrade program. The purpose of the video would be to help prepare the
unsuspecting upgrade pilot for the changes in mind-set and philosophy that
will occur when going from round-dial/steam-gauge aircraft to an advanced
glass cockpit aircraft. I believe I heard someone from another airline
mention such a video in use while at the CRM Conference at Ohio State last
week. Does anyone out there know of such a video in use at their airline?
If you do and think it was worthwhile, we'd like to "borrow" a copy to help
give us some ideas regarding an effective format and contents of such a
