I have been busy in the background preparing for several major changes to our
CRM-DEVEL mailing list and its companion web site. On Friday, March 12 we
will be transitioning both to new servers. These changes will greatly enhance
our ability to carry on conversations and will give us more capabilities on
our web site with faster revision times. These changes will require very
little action on your part.
On the transition day, your subscription to the CRM-DEVEL mailing list will be
automatically transferred to the new list server. The only change you will
need to make is to send your posts to a new address. I will provide more
information as we get closer to the transition date. I will also tell you
about the new capabilities we will have such as digests, web-only
subscriptions, online calendar, polling, personal profiles, and a new
searchable archive.
We will also have a new address for our web site, which will require you to
update any bookmarks or favorites lists you may have. This site uses
FrontPage technology, which streamlines site development and maintenance
significantly. This means your contributions will get online faster, while
taking less of my scarce time to maintain the site. In addition, we will have
a vastly improved site search capability to help us find the information we
need in our ever growing collection of resources.
The cost of these improvements is being covered by the revenue the CRM
Developers Group receives from Amazon.com for CRM/HF Bookstore sales
commissions. Thanks to all of you who have made bookstore purchases for your
support.
