Don't feel you need to apologise, you've done us a favour, activated our
'cultural awareness', showing how an Australian uses dry wit in ways that will
confuse others. You wouldn't want that going on in the cockpit, would you?
Getting a critical message wrong owing to different usages of the same language?
When Surendra Ratwatte replied to Guy Standen's question, he threw down
a challenge to us all. I propose we take it up with a Tiger Team attack. I'd
be happy to take submissions and put them into a paper that could be posted in
the Resources section. It would have to lead to conclusions and
recommendations for action, training, etc, that are amenable to practical
implementation. Any starters?
