First time responder, long time reader. I've enjoyed the fruitful discussions
especially those re: error chains. Keep up the great work you are all doing on
the training side. I'm on the Human Factors design side of the house at Boeing
in Long #002#Beach. We are currently working a study on wake vortices for
possible interaction with paratroopers jumping out of the new C-17 military
transport. To my knowledge, wingtip and other wake vortices are dependent
heavily on aircraft type, airspeed, configuration, current winds, etc. I don't
have too many details myself on vortices but I have a lead for you. NASA
(National Aeronautics and Space Administration) at Langley Air Force Base has
some "experts" whom we have dealt with. They may be able to field your
inquiries. Try F.H.PROCTOR_at_LARC.NASA.GOV GOOD LUCK

Hello CRMers:
This subject is not exact a CRM subject, but it could help in an investigation.
I would like to know if there are some value related to the speed the wing tip
vortex travel away from the flight path.
Thank you much.
