Kerry,

I'm traveling and somehat behind on my e-mail. I believe somewhat else
referred you to the training video produced by CRM films, if not we can give
you their phone number. We bought the film and edited-it down quite a bit for
use in facilitative training.

We found another tool useful in the work we do with Nuclear power plant
control room crews and their management. It is a personal inventory designed
to measure the Groupthink dimensions described by Janus:

* Illusion of Invulnerability
* Rationalizing/Discounting Negative Information
* Ignoring Ethical/Moral Consequences of Decision
* Stereotypes Views of Other Groups
* Group Pressure to Conform
* Self-Censorship
* Illusion of Unanimity

We would aggregate the data and feed it back to the groups, with the
disclaimer that it probably lost its validity in the aggregate. Nevertheless
it would prompt some excellent discussion and self-disclosure.

We have also used materials from an extensive instructional package put
together by some of the faculty at State U. of New York at Binghampton. The
videos include powerful interviews with Roger Boisjoly and others from
Thiokol.

Finally, we recently received, but have not read, a book on Groupthink in
government put out by the U. of Chicago press that looks very interesting.

If you are not already aware of these resources we would be happy to look up
addresses and telephone numbers for you.
