Hi Surendra
Anything you can do to help people in aviation better cope with their
environment and reduce stress is useful. Have a look at Jo anne's excellent
summary of the evolution of CISManagement. Also I would suggest you check
out some of the research on the efficacy of programs that she has mentioned.
To justify the costs, ongoing training of peer supporters etc. I have had to
be accountable to the management of the organisation in the end. That is,
they want measurable outcomes, they want to know that the organisation is
going to be better off commercially as a result of this outlay. The program
you `buy in' if thats what you eventually decide to do ie. use consultants
etc. needs to have a clear evaluation process that is locked into your
organisations outcomes.
There is a risk that the program will fall over in the end without this
in place.
Ill send you some stuff on the PTSD as it pertains to airline personnel later.
Have a good one
Kerry
