Seems to me that I remember arguments like this against the Concorde's
introduction. Perhaps Boeing's insistance on creating, and later its
dropping the Mach 3 aircraft project helped create the "not invented
here" mentality. I'm sure if Boeing had led the way in technology,
attitudes toward the A320 would be quite different.
