Hi Tero,

The best approach might be to look at operators currently qualifying fleets
under the Advanced Qualification Programme (AQP) since this requires formal
instructional design for all operating procedures. One of the objectives
of the programme was to improve the efficiency of type conversions by
allowing operators to define the skills match between each fleet type.

Airbus Industrie in particular has spent a lot of time and effort on
standardization and developed a type conversion database application which
specifies the instructional objectives crew need to acquire to move from
any Airbus type to any other Airbus type. No doubt Boeing is close behind
with something similar.

The contact at Airbus is Regine Vadrot, Airbus Industrie Flight
Standards/Training Certification; she was at +33-61-93-20-63 a couple of
years ago.

You could also try Doug Farrow at FAA AFS 230; phone +1-703-661-0268 who is
the ISD guru for AQP.

A number of people on this listserve work for operators qualifying under
AQP and should be able to give you worked examples.

Good luck,

Rick
