This month, those of us in the States are exactly one year away from the
FAA compliance deadline requiring CRM training. At that time, all flight
crew members must be established in approved CRM training programs. The
deadline is two years away for dispatchers and flight attendants.
Many airlines have long standing CRM programs, but that does not always
ensure FAA approval or that development is smooth. Other carriers are just
entering the CRM field and are starting from scratch. I would be
interested in hearing how programs around the industry are progressing and
what barriers to compliance have been encountered.
The JARs also require CRM/human factors training. How are those of you in
Europe doing with your programs?
