I am trying to gather information regarding low-time pilots training in
required two-man crew aircraft. I am researching whether it is more beneficial
for the students to simultaneously train for captain and first officer duties
in the same session or whether the inexperienced students should concentrate
on first officer duties and learn captain duties in a crew environment after
completion of the first officer training. Most of the students training now
fly as first officer for an hour or so and then flip-flop with their partner
and assume the captain role of the training. Keep in mind that these students
have never flown in a turbo prop/jet aircraft and average about 250 hours
total time. These students are training in Beech 1900 and Boeing 737 level D
sims for this training I am researching. If anyone could lead me to some
similar studies that were conducted or have personal input, it is all greatly
appreciated.
Cheers
