Prof. Robert Helmreich and Dr. Ashleigh Merritt are about to publish a book
which particularly looks at the influence of culture in aviation and
medicine. It will be put out by Ashgate Publishing this year and from my
first glance looks to be brilliant.
Another excellent book in this area is called 'Riding the Waves of Culture'
by Fons Trompenaars which has been published in hard and softback by
Economist Books. He used to work with Hofstede and presents a slightly
different view. It is not aimed specifically at aviation, but is very
readable and would help shed light on what is an important and developing
subject.
