Brian: In one of our LOFT scenarios, the crew is given a vector by
departure control which heads them right towards a mountain. Right
after that, the crew gets a total radio failure, coupled with some other
minor distractors. It is very interesting to see how the crews react to
this type of situation. Although we haven't had any crews impact the
mountain, the time it takes them to realize the NORDO problem has been
varied. No, I don't think you are off the mark!
