Great discussion of late on the definition of CRM !
Thought we (Air Nova CRM Team) would drop this out for opinion and
discussion. [By the way, those not knowing Air Nova - we are a regional
connector airline owned and operated by Air Canada, based and flying out of
Halifax, Nova Scotia. Routes cover East Coast of Canada and United States.

CRM has evolved quite dramatically in the past 20 years. Today, it means
the use of all resources available to get yourself out of trouble
regardless of personality or bias. This concept goes well beyond cockpit
and crew and into the company as a whole.
We are trying to learn Resource Coordination in the hostile sense. Our
company culture is such that we are expected to make decisions every day
that affects the viability of the operation. Air Nova expect's all of us
to take a Leadership role when it comes to profitability. Our company
makes the resources available. We have to use them.
We belive the term RESOURCE COORDINATION and LEADERSHIP (RCL) better
decribes what we try and do every day and what we aim for in the long term.
