I've just come back from my Clinic where I know
that, unless the roof falls in, I won't be
disturbed and I can only see one patient at one
time...

The medical literature does support your hypothesis
- at least about doctors - that those with
problems tend to go to work and stay at work, where
they are buffed and thanked and smiled at and
regarded as wonderful (well, some of the time!)
rather than go home to face and sort out their
problems. The medical work environment may not be
as controlled as that of the cockpit, but the
problems are of another's makings (i.e., the
patient's) and there is a structure to what can be
done where and when.

Of course, the big difference is that their lives
are not at stake...
