Wasn't the original idea of CRM keyed upon Senior Mgmt buy-in? If there is
no support there, from the beginning, I'm afraid you (we) will be barking
up a very tall, thick trunked tree!!! Several years ago, we were asked by
our Senior Mgmt to present a portion of CRM to that group at their annual
business meeting. There was still a sizable faction (outside of Flight
Ops) that simply didn't understand what CRM entailed and how it might be
effective. In an attempt to "dazzle" our Senior Mgrs., we set out to
develop the "Ultimate CRM" workshop for Mgmt. Being a highly developed
group, we soon realized we were way over our collective heads and seeked
helped from others in the field -- one, in particular, being Capt. Pete
Wolf _at_ SWA. After several conversations and careful consideration (and
some gentle prodding on Pete's part), we simply presented four modules from
our Pilot CRM Workshop -- a huge success!! (The "KISS" principle really
does work!)
My point being, be careful what and how you attempt to "facilitate" ideals
to those that hopefully already "embrace" our concepts and goals. Now, if
we're talking Middle Management!!!! Welllllllllll, meet me at the bar in
Houston---
