Re Guy's and Key's points:
'Refreshing' training is in everyone's interests. Here are a couple of
thoughts I would add to Key's list.
Bring in a senior professional from another field to lead a seminar
group through several hours of comparison with how other professionals
(doctors, lawyers) maintain standards, the comparisons being with all
aviation professionals, not just flight crew. (I use a lawyer because
she's got other attention-getting stuff to talk about, if the
discussion 'dries up'.)
Divide the large group into small teams (7 max) and ask them all to
develop their own ideas for exercises that will simulate critical
decision making - and individual or team behaviour - but outside the
usual place of business or simulator, and then compare notes.
A question: Someone mentioned letting the simulator 'crash'. Is this a
good idea?
Cheers
