It is our suggestion that the TRM concept should be woven into the
operational safety mission of the company, in the same way that CRM is
woven into all areas of an air carrier's safety and/or corporate mission
statement(s). Preparing the program is a lot of work, but a great deal
of fun, not to mention professionally inspiring.
While I'm online here, does anyone know of a book/paper on the SHEL
model - S=Software, H=Hardware, E= Environment, L=Liveware. SHEL lists
factors to consider in Human Performance. Pat Veillette made reference
to it in his workshop at the AvPsych Symposium at OSU, and I would like
to study the SHEL model toward using it, or similar, in the study of
operational error. A friend told me that ICAO has some info, but
scanning their website and publications catalogue has not yielded
anything.
Cheers !
