Dear Cezar,

>I was invited to make a presentation about CRM to helicopter pilots. The
>matter is: I've never ever even got onbord of an helicopter.
>Do you know where I can find any issues related to CRM foe helicopter crew?

There is several sites where you can find info to prepare more than a
presentation to helicopters pilots, listed below some of them, but let me
tell you that Myself as a CRM facilitator and helicopter pilot, I found that
being the CRM training a non-technical skill, in terms of mental processes,
perceptions/situational awareness, decision making, and most of the matters
to be treated, for the people involved, the rules are mostly the same than
in the whole industry.

Likewise, for choosing study cases if you have problems due the lack of
helicopters related full formal reports, is better to select those related
to turbo
props rather than Jets. I insist the forces and the actors playing are the
same in almost all cases, only operational environment differs a bit, (in my
opinion it has minor impact on teaching technique) props/commuter airlines
cases,
are much closer to the helicopters people style of life, then it requires
less transfering effort to get matching the case with their day to day
problems.

I want to ensure you that inside helicopter's cockpits there are regular and
very professional people, nothing different than airplanes. Do not be afraid
about them.

May be good time to let know to the list's people, not engaged in
helicopter issues,
that;

According to E & P Forum (Exploration and Production Forum for the Oil
Industry) 1997 Safety Report said, for World-Wide Offshore Helicopters
Operations
Accident Rate per 100.000 Hrs 1.16 and
Fatal rate per 100.000 Hrs 0,53

As comparison, the scheduled airline accident rate per 100.000 departures
was 0.44 during the same period, and the Helicopter Off-Shore industry was
0.35.

The US rate for all non-scheduled commercial hire airplane flights was 4.14
per 100.000 Hrs while the Off-Shore Industry rate was 1,16 and the fatal
rate for the same segments and periods are 0,81 for airplane flights and
0.35 for Off-Shore helicopters.

Useful places for finding cases are:

www.ntsb.gov/Aviation/Accident.htm

I Hope this helps, good lack
