Regarding un-planned go around training, again, a personal opinion - even
though I did not brief flying an approach to a miss in sim. training does
NOT mean they will not be given a reason to go around! I like to give a
crew AT LEAST 5 or 6 missed approaches during 8 sim. periods in
transition training and at least one if not two, will be following an
engine out ILS to a miss, with loss of the second engine on the miss! I
feel every takeoff is a potential rejected takeoff and every approach is
a potential missed approach for whatever reason. I brief it, I train for
it and I expect it; it of does not occur, even better.
