I heard a presentation at Ohio Psy that had measured the time a faciilitator had to actually observe the participants at 40 percent
of the time. We did some automatic failure inputs in our CAE simulators with limited success. One involved prioritization and
workload management. We input turbulence which was to trigger an announcemnet about the seat belt sign coming on and at the same
time had a TCAS resolution advisory. Because it took about 30sec. for the TCAS to activative the Resolution Advisory from the
Traffic Alert the automatic programing was often out of sinc.
It sounds like you are the master of the automation programming and would have vital info. on what was possible.
