And I agree totally with what you say, with another angle. The TYPE of CRM
required on the modern flight deck, is not necessarily a completely appropriate
behaviour that would work at home! Communications and task sharing on a flight
deck has very specific goals of behaviour which reduce the likelihood of failure
of the crew to "cope" to the minimum possible. While so much of it is enshrined
in decent behaviour, and interpersonal skills, it is nevertheless very
specifically tailored to our work.
I would go as far as to suggest that there should be a "transition" from normal
life behaviour to that required for the flight deck; a process of adjustment to
get ready for the behaviours necessary to do the job effectively as a flight
crew team member. (Sorry, I spelt behaviour the "English" way!)
Controversial? Well, let's see!
