I agree with the suggestion about automatic spoiler retraction. My guess on
why it hasn't been implemented is deciding were to make the cutoff for
automatic retraction. As this cutoff would be somewhat arbitrary, it may be
a difficult sell to designers and pilots alike. What I mean is that Go
around power is not full power (max available power) but a predetermined
setting based on density altitude, weight, etc. The same applies to takeoff
power. Its rarely the same for all takeoffs. So the problem is figuring out
what minimum setting should be selected for the automation to take over. I
would be interested to know if anyone in the industry of designing this
stuff has tackled this issue?
