What is the history or background of our technical SOP ?

Why was it necesary to generate those SOP ?
Because human beings have the tendency both to deny dangers and to forget
safe behaviors.
Did the technical stuff improve with SOP ?
Absolutly.
What is SOP intended to rend ?
To modify, to secure, to fix, to affirm, to assert certain type of behaviors
that otherwise would be free to each individual caprice (capriccio),
ignoring the safety rules.
Aviation is a transgressing activity. Aviators transgress natural lows.
Aviators transgress human self preservation instinct. And precisely in that
transgrations are the profound charme of this pasionate activity.
Our cultural individualism and instinctive tendency to transgress, perhaps
need the transcription of CRM behaviors (proceduralization) as the technical
behavior needed in our sacred SOP.
An old spanish dictum says: "man is the son of rigor"... (or something like
that).
