Morning folks,

Tareq brings out an interesting point. In my opinion, though the name tag is new, the actual practices used are just an amalgam of the ways that "good" captains would behave. Those of us that grew up and flew in "traditional" societies, got used to authoritarian flight decks. Yet many Captains behaved in ways that would thrill the CRM gurus, though probably with a higher cockpit gradient than Westerners would accept. But then, this is more than acceptable in the context of an Asian society. In fact many pilots I fly with are quite comfortable with this, which brings us back to Culture spat.

"Nuff said.
