One of the points I like to make is the huge difference between what one
*can* do and what one *should* do. The 727 and the MD-80 are both airplanes
that have considerable capabilities and you can do some amazing things with
them. But..one has to stop and think that if that one tiny component you are
counting on burps, you are probably going to bend lots of metal and for
what??? You can be assured the first thing that will pop into your mind is
"WHY DID I THAT?". As someone has mentioned, if it doesn't look right, if it
doesn't feel (sorry for that word) right, it probably isn't right.
I can remember a few approaches in each that I skated out of and later spent
considerable time thinking, "That was really stupid."
