Hello CRMers:
Just a quick thought from a list lurker. In regards to the discussion on
social and group pressures, may I suggest that important factors are the
phenomenons of "risky shift" (James Stoner, 1961) which is the tendency for a
group to consistently propose riskier courses of action and "polarization" (C.
Fraser, 1971) which is the tendency for individuals to become more extreme
(riskier or conservative) as a result of group discussion.
Perhaps these phenomena are factors for some of the concerns that have been
raised in recent dicussions?
