In my experience working with Latin American crews, I have to say that
I
couldn't agree with you more. Furthermore, what works for Lan Chile
may
not work (or at least not work as well) with another Chilean airline.
And the culture of both the country and the company would well be
different with a Venezuelan or Nicaraguan airline. Copying the methods
of another culture won't work very well. But one can copy the GOALS of
another companies program with some success. And even better is to
establish one's own goals and work on achieving those.
While we all strive to learn the same skills, the culture that we carry
within us unavoidably colors the way we learn, see, and practice those
skills.
