Well said, and I wholeheartedly agree. The new skills become comfortable once
they have proven to be successful (to each individual), and the individual
uses the skills frequently enough so that they become natural. One of the
keys to this is making these new skills required behavior at all times (both
on the airplane and on the ground). Of course to do this, these skills must
be clearly and objectively observable so they can be monitored and backed up
by the team. On the training side, you just can't do this effectively with a
single class every six to twelve months.
