Riding in the cockpit is the other way to get data. The simulator
stuff is somehow not as good. The excitement is usually not there, the
artificial environment is not as real as the real environment, and the
problems somehow are not as complex as in a real airplane. That is to say,
in the matter of priority, it is different to look out the window and see
the engine on fire as opposed to just getting a ringing bell and a light. A
look at the value jet transcripts also seems to bare the difference.
However, you guys are on the right track I feel...AM may be the next buzz
word and I think a very important issue to train.
