Hi Tony and Neil, Jumping right in after my short absence, let me say that I
think you are both on the ragged edge of defining where we should go with
metrics, at least on the operational level. A flap switch is designed to work
a certain way and we all can agree what that is. Neil's point is that we do
not know what the designed function of the first officer is, at least not
with the same degree of unanimity. Therein lies the rub!! We need to get some
good working definitions so that we do know. That is the beginning of the
metrics solution.
