How do we know CRM training changes behaviour?
Study the CVR communication patterns of UA 232 and compare them to
the behavior patterns of the UA crews in the late 70's. What a difference!
Personality traits?
The target is crew performance in spite of the personality traits.
Get over it, just do it! If the personality trait is one of a controller,
have him control the crisis through effective communication patterns.
Assertiveness training?
A well trained, effective crew never needs assertiveness training.
Assertiveness training is a protection device. I put my seatbelt on all the
time, not just when I expect to need it.
