I am a 757 Captain with Britannia Airways in the UK, and have been
developing/ running CRM courses now for about ten years. There is a lot of
stuff out there, but much of it consists of research papers and articles
which define the need for Human Factors and CRM training. There is much
less in the way of training material and programs that can be used directly
in real world courses with real aircrew.
Avebury Aviation Press seem to have the best selection of Aviation Human
Factors material and their list of publications is worth a look. If I had
to nominate just 5 books for use by course developers they would be:
"Cockpit Resource Management" by Wiener, Kanki and Helmreich (probably the
definitive text to date on the subject) Academic Press ISBN 0-12-750025-1
"Human Factors in Aviation" by Wiener and Nagel, Academic Press ISBN
0-12-7500031-6
"Aviation Psychology in Practice" by Johnston, McDonald and Fuller, Avebury
Technical ISBN 0-291-39808-1
"Human Factors in Flight" by Hawkins and Orlady, Avebury Aviation ISBN 1
85742 135 3
"Pilot Judgement and Crew Resource Management" by Jensen, Avebury Aviation
ISBN 0 291 39804 9
